I’m going to Germany, to work for a company near Frankfurt, making a new MMO. Can’t give any more details at the moment, I think. My job title is “Technical Director”, and it’s going to involve a fair bit of traveling.
I’m sad to leave Norway. The last weeks here I’m really trying to take it all in one more time. But the new job is an opportunity to build things from the ground up, and to put the experience I’ve made here to good use, and promises to be more exciting than what I’m doing at the moment. Not saying it’s not exciting here, but I’m hoping it can be even better 🙂
As for the States: No. It’s not a place I can see myself working. I’m having trouble enough seeing myself in Germany, with the way it’s turning into a surveillance society, so the States positively freak me out.
Crytek is not where I’m going – I don’t think that at this point we’d be a good match for each other, honestly. Sure they’re German, but my strengths are more general and not in the field of high-end graphics and my experience is with other types of games. If they were to make an MMO and looking to hire experience for that, or a 3D action adventure, then I’d be both more interested in and more valuable to them.
