This is pretty cool. A programming language that uses a Shakespear-esque style of writing. According to the authors, it “combines the expressiveness of BASIC with the user-friendliness of assembly language”.
Take a look at the “Hello World!” program. It’s hilarious, but too long to quote here.
One of the nice things about getting mail from 1500 people every week is the ability to do statistics over their mails. I’ve written a little script to analyze the distribution of mailtools among Eressea players:
Not surprisingly, Outlook Express is the most popular software. But what is surprising is the amount of web mailers that people use. They account for more than 30% of all mails, and that’s pretty surprising given that Eressea doesn’t like HTML mail and is generally a game for more tech-savvy folks.
The chart software I’m using to make these charts is OWTChart, in case you need something to generate charts for web pages, this one gets a recommendation from me. And I’m pretty happy with how those pastel colors turned out 🙂

Heute war deutlich der Tag mit dem meisten Andrang auf der GC. Auf unserem Stand war der B?r am steppen, weil unser Distributor Koch mit den Booth Babes nicht gegeizt hat, und gegen?ber bei ATI ebenfalls h?bsche M?dels Freebies verteilt haben.
Das Internet wird in ein paar Sekunden gekappt, schnell abschicken…
Mir tun die Ohren weh, aber der Hals noch mehr. Auf der E3 gibt es eine Regel, dass kein Stand 80 Dezibel ueberschreiten darf. DAs haetten sich die Veranstalter der GC abschaeun sollen, denn hier kann man sich ganz einfach nicht unterhalten, geschweige denn ein Spiel vorstellen – Rechts neben uns hat Sony eine Live Band abwechselnd mit einem DJ, vor dem Stand steht ATI und macht laute Gewinnspiele, und auf unserem Stand schreit auch alle Stunde jemand in ein Mikrofonb, um das Spiel “Singles” zu promoten.
Sonntag abend werde ich einen Tinitus haben. Heute habe ich schon keine Stimme mehr.
Ansonsten ist die GC eine gute Messe, wesentlich medienwirksamer als die ECTS, die naechste Woche in London stattfindet, und auch attraktiver fuer osteuropaeische Unternehmen die Aufmerksamkeit gewinnen wollen. Hierher kommen wir sicher wieder zurueck.
Ich bin gerade in Deutschland angekommen, und stehe auf unserem Stand auf der games Convention. Hier wird es morgen, wenn die Messe losgeht, bestimmt extrem heiss werden.
Shadowlands ist installiert und l?uft, aber meine Kollegen klagen ueber die unzumutbaren technischen Zust?nde (deutsches Windows, deutsche Tastaturen!).
Wenn ich zwischendurch mal dazu komme, werde ich mein blog mit Tagesgeschehen aktualisieren.
